Straight answers

Is it free?

Yes. No account, no paywall, no trial. The globe, the daily output pages and the API all open to anyone.

How current is the data?

U.S. figures land once a day from the NRC report. European figures arrive per grid area, usually within a day. Every page prints the exact date of the data it is showing, so you never have to guess.

Why does a reactor sometimes show more output than its capacity?

European grids report gross output — everything the generator puts out — while capacity figures are net, after the plant's own consumption. The two are a few percent apart. We show the ratio and label it plainly rather than calling it a capacity factor, which it isn't.

Do you estimate missing numbers?

No. If a figure can't be sourced it stays out. When measured output disagreed with a listed capacity, we went to PRIS and found units whose published capacity was the original design value rather than the current one after uprates. Those are corrected and documented on the change log, not averaged away.

Can I use the data?

Yes. The reactor dataset is derived from an ODbL source, so the API is served under the same licence: use it, including commercially, with attribution and share-alike. Charts embed with a single iframe — see the methodology page.

Which reactors aren't tracked daily?

Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Slovenia, Romania, the UK, Ukraine and Germany don't publish per-unit generation to ENTSO-E, and no equivalent public feed exists for Asia. Those reactors appear on the globe with capacity and status, without a daily figure.
